Midwives’ contribution to normal childbirth care. Cross-sectional study in public health settings. MidconBirth II

midconbirth-ii-2Recent research suggests that there is some variability in the care that is given to women and their babies during labour and immediately after birth (intrapartum care). Intrapartum care can include recommendations on where the baby should be delivered, pain relief during labour, care given in the first, second and third stages of labour and care of mother and baby after the birth. Variability in intrapartum care raises concerns about how this may impact on the health of some mothers and newborn babies. This study is looking at how many normal births are attended by midwives in public health settings (for example, hospitals) and at home and recording what happens during the birth and shortly afterwards

Midwives’ contribution to normal childbirth care: Cross-sectional study in public hospitals in Catalonia
